Parental inquiries – Consultant responses
Is my baby getting enough air?
Airway safety is the most important factor and is a fundamental rule of babywearing. Accordingly, your baby’s face must always be visible; it must not be covered by either the carrier or clothing. Additionally, make sure that their chin is not pressed against their chest. You can read more about safe positioning here.
Which carrier should I choose?
To find the best carrier, first consider how, when, and by whom the device will be used, taking into account the baby’s weight, age, and the body type of the person(s) carrying them. If you are uncertain, send us an email with your questions! As a babywearing consultant, I can help with the screening process through targeted questions and provide a personalised recommendation. You can read more about the types in detail here.
Can you help with the adjustments?
Yes, feel free to send an email with your questions. Based on the downloadable guide, please take and attach your photos so that I can clearly see the adjustments. Download the guide here. Data Management: I will use the photos solely for the purpose of providing personalised adjustment assistance. The images will be automatically deleted once the correspondence is concluded and will not be shared with any third party.
Why is my baby crying in the carrier?
Crying is a complex phenomenon, but discomfort occurring in the carrier has some characteristic, professionally identifiable causes:
- Increased curiosity: Often arises in babies around 3 months of age because the carrier supports the spine too high, which restricts their view, or their field of vision is too narrow due to being carried on the front.
- Carrier adjustment error: A carrier that is adjusted too loosely causes insecurity, or the carrier is pressing on the baby somewhere.
- External discomfort: The cause of the crying may be an external factor (full nappy, tight clothing, hunger), but the process of being placed into the carrier itself can also be upsetting for the baby.
When can I carry my baby facing outwards?
This question most often arises between 3 and 6 months of age. My professional recommendation regarding this question is that it is not advised for the health of both the baby and the person carrying them. There are two main reasons for this:
- Ergonomic risk: This adjustment does not provide ideal ergonomic support for the baby. The spine's C-curve ceases to exist, and the M-position cannot be adequately formed, which places incorrect stress on the hips. Furthermore, this adjustment forces the carrier's spine into an anatomically incorrect posture, which leads to back pain in the long run.
- Overload: The baby receives various stimuli uncontrollably, which can overload their still developing nervous system. In this position, they cannot turn their head away and have no opportunity for restful calming.
My baby has a developmental disorder or an orthopaedic problem, can I still carry them?
In most cases, yes. Modern, ergonomic carriers help with daily life and support development. Restrictive medical advice often stems from outdated pouch carrier experiences, which genuinely do not provide adequate support for forming the M-position and the C-curve. If you need personalised assistance, write me an email. As a babywearing consultant, I will assess your situation and personally help you find the safest carrying method for you. Please include the diagnosis in the e-mail for the most effective consultation.
General information about our products
Where are the products manufactured?
All our products are manufactured exclusively within the European Union. This decision is fundamentally important to us from several perspectives:
- Quality guarantee: It ensures strict quality control over the products and adherence to high European manufacturing standards.
- Ethical production: We guarantee that the products are made under ethical labour and working conditions.
- Environmental responsibility: Manufacturing within the EU allows us to reduce the products' environmental impact and carbon footprint.
What determines which products are included in the offering?
Only products that pass the rigorous professional and quality screening set by the babywearing consultant can be included in our offering:
- Ergonomics requirements: Every carrier must provide support for the baby from knee-to-knee (M-position) and ensure the formation of the spine's natural C-curve.
- Safety and environmental requirements: The high quality standards of the manufacturers are important to us, which is why they must not use materials harmful to children's health. Our manufacturers work with Oeko-Tex certified materials.
How do I know if it will fit me well?
Accurate fit is key to comfort, which is why we make the most important information easily accessible:
- Clothing: The size chart is prominently displayed among the product images. This is the quickest and clearest way to select the correct size.
- Carriers: The exact range of adjustability for the shoulder and waist belts (specified in cm) is clearly indicated in the product description.
